Cartop is a systemic contact insecticide with a digestive effect that is effective by disrupting the nicotinic acetylcholine receptor. This insecticide stops feeding and leads to death due to starvation. Cartop controls biting and sucking insects, especially pests belonging to the group of butterflies and cockroaches, in all stages of development. In Iran, rice is used for the very important pest of stem-eating worms.
